Takahé Mountain Sauvignon Blanc is inspired by one of New Zealand’s most fascinating birds. Although long thought to be extinct, the colourful Takahé was rediscovered in 1948 in the Murchison Mountains of New Zealand’s South Island. Their striking plumage and sassy character reflects the zesty, textured wine within every bottle of Takahé Mountain.

Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand 13%
Sauvignon has become one of the world’s best loved grapes and whilst it started life in the Loire Valley of France, perhaps more people have encountered it in its New Zealand guise. Originating from South Island and not too far from where the Takahé was rediscovered, our wine has all the intense characteristics of a classic NZ Sauvignon in abundance. There’s an enticing citrus aroma, with just a hint of tropical fruit, a clean fruity palate that evokes elderflower and a fine, complex finish. All this means that although the wines is a deliciously refreshing glass on its own, there is plenty of potential for food pairings with the likes of grilled fish, stir frys, grilled Mediterranean vegetables and even mild curries.
